Pregnant patients

We understand you may have concerns about treatment during this part of your life.

It is important to perform all necessary dental procedures. DO NOT postpone them. In fact certain dental disease is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes, including a higher prevalence of preterm delivery.

What is safe & What should be avoided

Local anesthesia with lidocaine is safe unless there are other associated medical conditions.  Tylenol with codiene and percocet are both safe.  NSAIDS such as ibuprofen (Advil) should NOT be used.

Penicillins and cephalosporins are safe.  Doxycycline, Flagyl and tetracycline should be avoided.
